Brentford Town midfielder
Frank Onyeka has expressed delight at his first Premier League goal for the club, Futbalgalore.com.ng reports.

The 26-year-old was a 90th minute substitute for the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium and slotted home the icing on the cake in their 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday.

“The goal arrived at the right time because Sheffield United didn’t want to bow without fighting. I’m super happy with my first Premier League goal for Brentford because I had been waiting since 2021,” Super Eagles star Onyeka told Futbalgalore.com.ng shortly after the game.

“It will give me confidence. I hope I can score more goals now and keep helping this great club.”

The FC Ebedei product dedicated the goal to his wife.

“The goal is dedicated to my lovely wife, Mesoma Onyeka. This is because of her prayers and support to my career. She is always there for me during good and bad periods,” he continued when asked by Futbalgalore.com.ng.

The former Midtjylland ace hailed the ‘perfect squad’ at the West London side as they battle to beat the drop at the home stretch of the season.

“I was keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for any loose ball when I climbed off the bench but I thought I had timed my run well. Thanks to the fans for the support. It’s unreal, It’s a surreal moment. I can’t put it into words.

“Everyone knows at Brentford there will be competition. It helps us all develop as players. We have a good squad, everyone is needed at this crucial point of the season.
